Our community is immensely proud\u00a0of the cultural\u00a0heritage, sporting traditions and history of the Glens.\u00a0This may be the end of an era but it\u2019s also an exciting new chapter in the history books for this community. We\u2019ve had no community space since the parish hall closed in 2011 and we\u2019re all looking forward to having this new facility which the whole community will be able to use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40\" src=\"https:\/\/friendsofglenariffe.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/old-club2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"218\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The doors to the clubhouse were locked for the last time by Niall Wheeler assisted by a few of the younger members of the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glenariffe community residents were down on the hurling field on Sunday 26 November to say\u00a0a fond farewell to the old club building before the demolition squad move in.
