It will provide a wider range of social, sporting and recreational opportunities to people of all ages, abilities and interests in the community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-89\" src=\"https:\/\/friendsofglenariffe.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/View_Asm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"401\" srcset=\"https:\/\/friendsofglenariffe.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/View_Asm.jpg 720w, https:\/\/friendsofglenariffe.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/View_Asm-300x167.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new facilities will include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>GROUND FLOOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reception Area<\/li>\n<li>Changing rooms with shower and toilet facilities<\/li>\n<li>Medical Room<\/li>\n<li>Office and storage space<\/li>\n<li>Lift to first floor<\/li>\n<li>Toilet and access facilities for people with disabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>FIRST FLOOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multi-purpose community function room which can be divided into 2<\/li>\n<li>Kitchen and catering facilities<\/li>\n<li>Gym and fitness centre<\/li>\n<li>2 disabled toilets<\/li>\n<li>Viewing gallery\/veranda<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/friendsofglenariffe.org\/ground.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download the proposed plan<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities and Services<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new Centre will provide an inclusive, accessible community hub where people of all ages, interests and abilities can come together. The Centre&#8217;s facilities will serve the needs of both the local community and the hurling club. We plan to offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social and community activities and events<\/li>\n<li>Kitchen and catering facilities<\/li>\n<li>Community health and wellbeing activities<\/li>\n<li>Fitness centre<\/li>\n<li>Fitness\u00a0 classes for all ages, levels, abilities and interests<\/li>\n<li>Play group<\/li>\n<li>Pre and After School Clubs<\/li>\n<li>Artts, crafts, music, dance and drama classes<\/li>\n<li>Training, information and advice sessions<\/li>\n<li>Meeting and training space for local clubs, groups and associations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Centre Cost<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have secured sufficient funding to build the first phase of the proposed Glenariffe Community and Recreation Centre which will cost \u00a3850,000.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to raising \u00a3281,000 ourselves over the past 8 years, we have been awarded \u00a3420,000 from the Big Lottery NI Fund Space &amp; Place Programme and a further \u00a3180,000 from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
