Centre Cost
We have secured sufficient funding to build the first phase of the proposed Glenariffe Community and Recreation Centre which will cost £850,000.
In addition to raising £281,000 ourselves over the past 8 years, we have been awarded £420,000 from the Big Lottery NI Fund Space & Place Programme and a further £180,000 from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. To bridge the shortfall and to safeguard our secured funds, Friends of Glenariffe have taken out a loan with UCIT (the Ulster Community Investment Trust) which is a bank specialising in lending monies to community organisations. This loan is solely the responsibility of the Friends of Glenariffe and will be paid back over 10 years.
